Post Valentine’s Day Rants…

Another valentine’s day got over.. It was very recently that this day got this much recognition and people started celebrating one special day to celebrate love. All the youngsters now look forward to this day with very high hopes n dreams. I agree lots of people, including myself are a part of them.

Many people are against this V-day, saying this is all western culture and that they need not have a special day for revealing their love towards their close ones. Ya, indeed we need not have specific day and time for that, but in our busy schedule and hectic life, where Indians are progressing like the West in living a mechanical life routine, I guess, enjoying and celebrating such days boosts up our private life and our emotional quotient.

And without emotions and feelings, man is not complete. Every one loves and cares for atleast few people if not more, and the different names like care, friendship, crush, infatuation, love, and the different classifications within love like love for parents, love for partner, love for siblings, love for friends and what not! uff! All are gimmicks, atleast that’s what i feel. Each human being has consistent emotions and feelings of his own and that too predefined to certain other beings, be it other human beings or to animals and birds. And its the man who changed the whole perspective and put the limitations or restrictions for loving each other. He created the limits for friendship and love, by defining physical intimacy, but they may have forgot that hugs and touch are the best ways to show care. They have limited the word of love to only the love between lovers. Can’t we celebrate the day for spreading love to parents, friends, sisters, and even neighbours!!

Oh ok, I guess I am too much preaching like Mother Teresa.. 🙂 But at times, I really feel utmost respect for her, b’coz her preachings of love was so true. It teaches you so many things in life, and its deficiency leads to disaster in day to day life… Only if the whole society accepted the same and started following her principles from the first! What changes would have happened??? Umm.. Well, there wont be any discrimination, blah blah…those are too general.. leave it there. Then there wont be any misunderstandings between friendships and love. Though i agree some limits is needed btw boys and girls, many people put too much restrictions to even frienships between them. When there can be many beautiful relations arising out, the society turns them out to some thing else! All people need solace and are dependent on each other. And i guess that’s where love evolves…

So let’s hope this V-day refreshes the love we have for each other just like a new year presents us with new opportunities and refreshes our responsibilities..

And regarding you people’s doubt, (;-)) no, i have no valentine as of now, but for me, I love my parents, sis and all my friends(online and real)!!! Thats more than enough for me to enjoy the day! 🙂

Unspoken words…

Everything was over. The sun had set in the horizon. My mind had gone numb with joy or sorrow? I don’t know. As I walked along th hallway, the only sound heard was that of my new anklets bought two weeks ago. I was deeply immersed in the beehive of thoughts and anxiety while my steps took me to the room. The door was partly kept ajar as if it was waiting for me to open it. I opened the door slowly and searched for him. The room light was dim and the sunset coloured ambience of the bulbs added the special effects.

Film Review – Vivaah

The film directed by Sooraj Barjatya, like his other films, portrays a beautiful story which is a fairy tale indeed. The main roles are portrayed by Shahid Kapoor as Prem, Amrita Rao as Poonam(bittu), Alok Nath as Poonam’s father, Anupam Kher as Prem’s father. All the roles are perfect and acting of all people suited the story and the characters. Amrita is absolutely beautiful and sweet and cute and what not!! (The perfect girl in everyone’s eyes as the story demands) and Shahid does his job pretty well, as the good-hearted boy of this generation(Again as the story demands). The on-screen chemistry of both is really wonderfull.

The story theme as like other films of the director, is of a middle aged girl family and a high caste boy family. Here the only difference is the boy and girl does not fall into love on their own, instead its an arranged marriage from the start, decided by both families in the form of a proposal through a common friend. Poonam stays with her father’s brother(Alok Nath) and their family. The Chacha and Chachi have their own daughter(the one who comes as model in ads! dono name..) Chachi is not so kind towards Poonam coz, she is more fairer and beautiful than her own daughter, Chotti. For the extremes, Prem’s family runs a very prestigious business spread over world. but family is very kind hearted and does not mind the proposal from the small village. The engagement happens on the day when the groom ppl come to the girls’ house and marriage is fixed after 6 months.

In between, both families have a picnic at Somsarovar for few days, after which Prem flys over to Japan(or some country..) for project work. All the while, Prem and Poonam develops a mutual understanding over time. After coming back, marriage preparations are in high swing, when the story twist occurs!

The film is beautifully framed into a good family drama theme, with good meaningful dialogoues which is true to some extent. In the start, Prem’s father talks long about marraige and stuff to his son which is good and true to all those who are swinging thoughts regarding marriage. Then the feelings and tensions between the engaged people and the non-stop talks that they do makes an interesting watch. The small roles played by Prem’s elder brother, bhabhi(wife) and their son’s jokes, the cheerful Chotti etc gives comedy touch to the otherwise serious film. And the film is a full fledged family movie genre.

Overall rating: 8/10

Scribble

the wind is blowing hard,
and the storm is very bad,
the heights of gloom,
the silence in the room,
everything is making me mad.

friends are found with dark masks worn,
seems to have the world gone torn,
it is dark and cold at night,
and just leaves my mind plain white.

kahi bhi pyar nahi
kahi bhi vishwas nahi,
bahut ummeed thi badalne ki
lekin zamana badla hi nahi…..

intezar ki bhi had hai,
na din hai na raat hai,
ab dil ki baat kise bataye,
har waqt tho barsaat hai…

kehte hai zindagi tho ek samjhauta hai,
dil ko mankar chalo tho saaf raastha hai
jo hoga zaroor mushkil aur sunsaan
aur sab ke nazaron mein woh nadaan
lekin hai sukoon uske dil mein
jise dekh nahi sakte kisi aur mein
ek hi umeed hai baki is raasthe par
chalne ke liye raazi ho koi humsafar…..
